Canadian Nature Photographer Dwayne
Oakes was born and raised in southern
Ontario, Canada where he still lives
today. Dwayne's first camera was a
Kodak Brownie Hawkeye
that he bought at a flea market when he was 11. At age 14 Dwayne set up his own darkroom in his basement where he learned the art of black and white photography.
It was an American Goldfinch
song bird that he had seen in his late
teens that got him interested in nature.
He knew then what his goal in life would be, to combine his two passions, a love
for nature and his craft, photography.
Dwayne switched from film to digital in
2006 and continues to capture
the awe inspiring beauty and wonder
of the natural world. (Dwayne uses photo
editing software to enhance his images).
"Hello everyone and thanks for taking the
